Goat Information
There is a lot of information about pygmy goats available
online. NPGA's (National Pygmy Goat Association) website: http://www.npga-pygmy.com/
NPGA even offers a basic goat owner’s manual for $4 -

Most people keep their goats in a barn with an fenced
pasture. Since goats are herd animals you need to have at
least two goats. Some common misconceptions that are
NOT true are that goats eat everything and that they will
mow your grass. Our goats did not even eat apples and we
had to use the lawn mower on our pasture. Maintenance needed
is hoof trimming every 1-2 months, vaccinations every year,
and worming 2-4 times per year.
Most people charge $75 for Pygmy wethers (Wethers are
castrated male goats, they look very similar to female goats
and make great pets). Does start at about $250 and go
up in price for show quality animals to about $500.
Animals are generally sold with up-to-date vaccinations and
are dehorned, but you should check with the breeder first to
confirm. Bucks are generally not sold, unless the
buyer has a few does (4-5) they wish to breed. Only the most
structurally correct males should be kept intact and
generally sell for $350 and up.
